A Day in the Life of...

Right now, we are all writing small magazine article about ourself, it could be any, even make it up. We've just be out taking at lest 5 picture of ourself, (Don't like my pictures being taken) around Bath, then once that was done we all went back to the classroom, where we had to write a short story about ourself.

Once we've written something, Leanna showed us how to use InDesign to make the magazine the way we want it, plus how to place the pictures on the page then make them smaller or bigger, to help fill the page. After that we put in the text box, which we fill in with some random text which showed us what the page would look like, if we wanted to see what it would look like with the line around the boxes.

Now that was all done we could save it on our desktop and start writing our own.

Comics, Magazines and Graphic Novel

Comics are paper back book base on that one theme like spiderman, Batman, X-Men and Scooby Doo. There are lots of comic, some can be rare as they get older or people could collect them. Marvel is best named comic company that produces superheroes book?

Magazine are base in all kinds like Children mags, Teen mag, Fitness, Tattoo, Tv mag. They also included advertisement for different. Plus competitions as well. Other magazine like Take a break write about real life story from cheating, life changers and living in hell.

Comics and Mag have both in common is that their both paperback, plus they both include stories.

Graphic novel are hard back book with only written story without pictures or they

Visual
StoryTelling
The art and Technique

Tony C. Caputo
Introduction by
Harlan Ellison
Special Essay by
Jim Steranko

What I have is a Graphic novel called Visual storytelling the art and technique. It tell's about how comics are made and why, Like why the comic are written in different in different areas instead of straight down the page. In one part of he book theres two picture and a small writing telling about Scott McClourd, Reinventing Comics, Who made the point that the cover of the comic is only the package and that the inside is the product.

It has loads of pictures like Hand drawn, Computer Graphic and photos, where in each one they used speech bubbles and mind clouds So people can tell who talking or thinking.

Another thing they talk about is light and colours, which helps give Comics dramatic effects. They used to comics stripes both the same just one in colour, so you can see how much of a difference it look and more understandable, because with out colour you wouldn't be able to tell witch bit is dark or light, whereas in the colour one it does and it makes the comic look better.

Advertise Royal Baby

New Year, New Royal Baby!

It's a new year, a new start and even more for the new royal baby. Welcome to the new world Bentley. Started the year with a thumb up and a bright smile, riding in the 'Bentley'.

We got in groups of 3's and the task was an advertisement of the royal baby and a car company. Each one of use had a job. We had 20 minutes/more to come up with a picture combining the royal baby and a car company of our choose, then come up with a small catchphrase for it; Ours was New Year, New Royal Baby!

Then we needed to write a blog for the advertisement, The one we used is at the top, that was my job whilst the other two done the photoshop of the royal baby and his parents.

flash button and popcorn

In this lesson we used Adobe Flash to make a button and popcorn.

The first thing we did was the button which has 4 pages Up, Over, Down, Hit. In up is a blue circle. Over is the green button underneath. Down is the same as the green button but a light blue colour. Hit is a square where when you go over it it will change the blue button into the green picture then when you pressed on to the green button it will change into the light blue colour one.
The next one we did is the popcorn where we had to draw a popcorn corn the and a small explosion. Next was to add a sound to popcorn when you pressed onto the popcorn when it explosion. My was a thunder storm. The last one was to make the popcorn to move, This one I did have some trouble but having Steve explain it again it looked easy and showed me my mistake which was I used the button symbol when I should have used the movie symbol.
